Sheridan to helm Buccaneers defense

Sheridan will be officially introduced during a Tuesday press conference.
"Bill is a great teacher who brings a tremendous understanding of defensive football to the Buccaneers organization," said Tampa Bay head coach Greg Schiano. "Over the last three decades, he has had the opportunity to work under some great head coaches like Bo Schembechler, Nick Saban, Lloyd Carr, and Tom Coughlin. A 31-year coaching veteran, Sheridan arrives from the Miami Dolphins, where he spent the last two seasons as their linebackers coach. He had previously served as linebackers coach (2005-08) and defensive coordinator (2009) for the New York Giants.
The 53-year-old has also logged time in the college ranks with Maine (1987-88), Cincinnati (1989-91), Army (1992-97), Michigan State (1998-2000), Notre Dame (2001) and Michigan (2002-04), primarily as linebackers coach.
